1. INSTALLATION
---------------
If you have previously installed any versions of the ET1 or
ET2 software (or the Demo version of ET2, AWSET3d), you
should un-install or remove them first, to avoid possible
conflicts.

Then follow the installation instructions on the diskettes,
and onscreen during the setup process.

Do not use *.PAR and *.FMT files created under previous
versions. They may not be compatible. Create new files with
the current version.

2. DATA FILE REQUIREMENTS
-------------------------
The ET program requires ASCII text data files which must be
"rectangular". This means that every row of data must have all
the ET sensors consistently in the same columns. There must be
no missing data. Successive rows of data must have time stamps
at the same interval. There must be no extra or missing data
rows.

You must ensure that Delta-T logger data files conform to
these requirements either beforehand at the logger config-
uration or programming stage, or after collecting the data
file by editing the ASCII file in a suitable application
(such as Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Notepad or Wordpad, for
example).

3. DL2e LOGGER DATA FILES
-------------------------
If you have collected your data as a binary file (*.BIN) use
the DL2e logger software to decode it into ASCII (*.DAT)
format. This is a comma separated value file, with text
enclosed in " ".

Make sure you view the *.DAT file in an ASCII editor
(NOT in the DL2e logger software). This will show you the
true order of the data columns which you will need to know
for ET2 software Data File Format (*.FMT) file setup. Note
that in addition to the data columns in the *.DAT file, an
error flag column precedes each data column.

The date format for the DL2e in the ET2 software is
DD/MM HH:MM:SS. It is one field only.

4. DL3000 LOGGER DATA FILES
---------------------------
After collection of the dataset file (*.DT3) from the
DL3000, you must use the Export function in the DL3000
Acquire! software to create a *.CSV (comma separated value)
data file. If you export the error flags too, include them
as extra columns in the data file.

Before you use the Export function, set the date format in
Acquire! to DD/MM/YY. The date format for the DL3000 logger
in the ET2 software will then be DD/MM/YY HH:MM:SS (ignore
the existence of the decimal seconds). It is one field only.
