Smith, A.Poll, D. I. A.2005-11-232005-11-231998http://hdl.handle.net/1826/204The work contained in this report is concerned with the use of transpiration at the leading edge of swept wings to modify and control transition due to cross-flow instability. Transition conditions are identified on both porous and non-porous surfaces, with and without suction, and the effect of two-dimensional excrescences is considered. Throughout, the application of the results to vehicle design is stressed and, where possible, simple design criteria are presented.1963 bytes2187998 bytestext/plainapplication/pdfen-UKEffect of surface suction on crossflow instability and transition occuring near a swept attachment-lineTechnical Report
