dc.description.abstractInnovations in the field of robotics and image processing have enabled robotic welding to slowly become the new standard for companies that are heavily invested in the process. However, the cost of such autonomous systems makes them accessible to only the elite; hence, without a sizeable investment, smaller companies are left behind the competition. The article describes a cost-effective solution to the process of autonomous welding through the use of a structured light set up along with an open-source robot and its design issues. A prototype of the proposed system has been developed with the results available.en_UK
