| dc.description.abstract | To address the rising demand for MBSE use in industry, academia must first grasp the industry’s view of MBSE. To facilitate this process, we share quantitative and qualitative data from a survey of the current state of practice and perception of MBSE in the UK landscape. Our study provides a discourse on academia’s self-assessment of the extent to which academia can provide the graduating class with important MBSE abilities to tackle real-world problems. To this day, the most significant challenges to adoption include organisational opposition and structure, a shortage of qualified workers, and the availability of MBSE instruments. Respondents agreed that MBSE tasks such as behavioural modelling, verification, and validation should be included in the teaching curriculum. Based on these findings, we propose academic techniques for designing MBSE instruction within the aerospace engineering degree curriculum. Finally, we explore the obstacles and constraints that academia encounters in implementing MBSE in a curriculum, and some solutions are proposed. | |
